Aikido is a martial art that focuses on flowing with an attacker's force rather than resisting it. Aikido's circular flowing techniques are fun, effective, and can be learned by anyone regardless of size, age or gender. Men, women, children, and seniors all find Aikido appealing because its techniques are not based on pitting one's strength against another's. Members learn to defend themselves without resorting to violent or aggressive behavior. Self-esteem, concentration, awareness, and focusing power are greatly enhanced, allowing balance and calmness to be maintained in all situations. This state of being is naturally carried off the mat and into the activity of daily life.

Aikido of Reno is a full time traditional Aikido school. We offer classes 7 days a week, with a schedule that includes morning, noon, and evening sessions. The training atmosphere is fun, friendly and invigorating. There are no contests in Aikido; one trains with a partner not an opponent. Everyone starts out as a beginner and progresses at his or her own speed. Visitors are encouraged to come in and watch a class and ask questions of any instructors or students.
